For the Cosmetic Fragments of June, we will speak with my eyes, starting with what was the source of many very positive changes in my life: my operation. Like many short-sighted people, it was years since I dreamed of having an operation to see clearly without glasses, especially since I could not wear lenses, so it was above all for an aesthetic purpose. A few days ago I was talking about being always a little surprised when some narrow-minded people consider me a pretty girl with a linnet head, because my vision of me has always been that of a left girl , Intello, nerd, in short nothing sexy! For glasses I wear from the age of twelve years and throughout the college, at the age when self-confidence is shaped, The teenage stupidity has helped to support the fact that as a thin, shy girl with glasses and good grades, I was not worth a nail. Then, of course, later on we grow, we emancipate ourselves that in-dira-tone and we assert ourselves, but somewhere always remains a trace of this pivotal period. Also, and I do not say that to fish for the compliment, I always considered myself a glasses brainwave, and was persuaded that everyone saw me like that especially since with the blog and its historical side, A lot of people were frankly crazy about my mouth (yeah they’re nice people eh!). On the other hand, I found myself pretty without glasses, finally on the photos because in truth I did not see much, and I complexed by telling me that people probably had to say “eh bah say, She is better in photo it! “Or when I took off my glasses to wipe them off and pals came out spontaneously,” wow t’es super pretty in fact! “.

So, for years I said to myself “as soon as I have a little money aside, I go! “And in 2015 it finally happened, thanks to the help of my mother. It’s funny because I notice that it freaks everyone out, but I was super excited! Mine was scheduled on my return from Taipei, after 14 hours of flight, and I could not stand it! I explain how it happens, first you have to check with an ophthalmo that your eyesight does not move, then there are two appointments at the clinic. For my part, I was advised the Rothschild foundation, then we set a date and we operate, and then there are 2-3 appointments over the weeks and months that follow to verify that everything is going well.

As my cornea is fragile, my surgeon (the super nice and super funny Doctor Gatinel) opted for the technique PKR, which unlike Lasik does not allow to see right away or avoid pain, but after all that is 4 days of hell for decades of happiness? The operation is very fast, barely thirty minutes, we dismiss the eyes Mechanical Orange, which is unpleasant but not painful, we see 2-3 instruments then the laser pass on the eye without feeling anything and hop is finished. However, after that it starts to squeeze severely, if you want to have an idea, from 30 min after the operation up to three days after, I could not open my eyes except at night! I remember going from Friday night to Monday morning in a very strange state, still having very badly, And making me frankly shit! I listened to the radio, and at nightfall I went out of my room to take a bath or eat without appetite (crazy as sight influences gluttony!), And complain, especially. I slept with some kind of plastic hulls taped on the mouth so as not to scratch me during my sleep! But what happiness when little by little the vision becomes clearer, when the eye gets used to the light of day, and when the protective lenses are removed! It took me a month or so to see totally clean, but it was not too troublesome, I saw a little blurry that’s all. Today I have sixteen tenths of vision, I do not know what that means, but I know the maximum possible is twenty-tenth so it’s fine, I could be a pilot! And at nightfall I went out of my room to take a bath or eat without appetite (crazy as sight influences gluttony!), And complain, especially. I slept with some kind of plastic hulls taped on the mouth so as not to scratch me during my sleep! But what happiness when little by little the vision becomes clearer, when the eye gets used to the light of day, and when the protective lenses are removed! It took me about a month to see totally clean, but it was not too troublesome, I saw a little blurry that’s all. Today I have sixteen tenths of vision, I do not know what that means, but I know the maximum possible is twenty-tenth so it’s fine, I could be a pilot!

What this operation has brought me above all is confidence in me, and it has no price. It’s as if these glasses were a barrier between me and insurance, it seems all stupid but the complexes have no logic! Of course, it’s superficial to want to feel pretty, but I’m tired of having to apologize because in France it is fashionable to pretend not to give a fuck. You know, there are two types of people who make fun of coquettish girls like me: on one side the sexist guys who think I’m a sparrow brain obsessed with nail polish, on the other sexist girls (That exists!) Or competitive that will say things like “how long have you been in front of the ice? And can you do the dishes with that? So superficial and idle … “. Women who – it goes without saying – are often herself very hyper coquettes! If it is true that I am still in a phase of my life when I do not entirely assume this interest in cosmetics, fault with these omnipresent prejudices, I must confess that my operation has totally changed the How I take care of myself. I am much more coquettish, more interested in makeup, and more assertive because I do not feel ugly! Not crazy about me, far from it, just at ease, well in my skin, and believe me, it unlocks everything! My human relationships are not the same at all since. I must confess that my operation has totally changed the way I care for myself. I am much more coquettish, more interested in makeup, and more assertive because I do not feel ugly! Not crazy about me, far from it, just at ease, well in my skin, and believe me, it unlocks everything! My human relationships are not the same at all since.

Of course, I always have complexes, for example I find that my circles see too much, but thanks to God there is make-up, and on this plan I begin to become a sacred specialist! I do not tell you how I pitied impatiently at the idea of making up without glasses for the first time, especially that it was necessary to wait a fortnight before approaching the least eyeliner. When I look at pictures of the past, I understand that it is enough to know to put on makeup to change a face, for example for years my eyeliner was too low and it did not go with my eyes falling slightly, and I did not know how to hide my dark circles. So, I take this opportunity to deliver step by step, my routine eye makeup.

From left to right: Dolce & Gabbana Mascara in «Nero 1», Marc Jacobs Velvet Mascara in «Black», Dolce & Gabbana Perfect Mono eyeshadow in «Lava 140», Bobbi Brown Creamy Concealer in «Cool Sand», NARS Radiant Creamy Concealer In “Medium 1 Custard”, Dolce & Gabbana Glam Liner in “Black Intense”, Marc Jacobs Magic Marc’er Precision Pen Eyeliner in “Blacquer” (pencil n ° 2), Highliner Gel Pencil in “Blacquer” ), Bobbi Brown Long-Wear Brow Pencil in “Taupe”, Dolce & Gabbana Shaping Eyebrow Pencil in “Stromboli”

Eyebrows : They structure the whole face and it is imperative to make them up, which I have never done before this year … I do not mention the grotesque brows that we see on Instagram, but regular eyebrows and well drawn. Recently I discovered that my line of eyebrows was broken and I did not like the air that it gave me without understanding the reason, until a makeup artist advises me to fill the holes and redraw the eyebrow , And believe me it changes the face. It is said that it is entirely suspended from the eyebrows, and it is true! My advice is to use a bold pencil with a brush (like the Bobbi Brown and D & G above), to draw a regular line without exaggerating neither the form nor the pigmentation, And fix with a little lacquer, having taken care to brush the eyebrows towards the temples. And if you do not have a pencil, a little dark eye shadow, moistened with water, will suffice.

Eyeliner : My thing is the cat eye very black and graphic, and I mix several products to achieve this result. I recently discovered Marc Jacobs makeup and I loved the Mod design of the products, which exactly match the type of makeup I’m trying to make. And in addition to being pretty, they are also very effective! I begin my line in the center, with the MJ pencil No. 1, the biggest, which serves me to draw a rather thick line in the center. Then, with a MJ N ° 2 thinner gel pen, I finish the line towards the inner corner of the eye and trace the comma, which I then fill with the pencil n ° 1. If I miss, I take a cotton swab moistened with cleansing lotion to erase what overflows, because the result is rarely perfect the first time! The secret of success is to find a fulcrum by hand to prevent it from shaking, using a hand mirror for example that will allow it to stall and therefore to move less. I do not forget the underside of the eye, with a thick line of liner along the eyebrows, which will join the comma. If I want an even more black and graphic line, I use a pot liner with a brush, or I pass on my pencil with a liquid liner, which is more difficult to handle but very pretty.

Lighting : A little trick of makeup super effective discovered this year: the white pencil. If that of Marc Jacobs is called “big eyes” it is not for nothing, because it has the effect of considerably enlarge the look, and bring a little touch 60s which is not to displease me. I apply it to the inside of the eye, below. Then, to open again the look, a tip of illuminator or pearly eye shadow at the inner corner of the eye, as well as on the arch just below the eyebrow line. To accentuate the volumes, one can use a matte eye shadow a lighter tone than the skin on the moving eyelid, and draw a circle above (in the hollow above the moving eyelid) with a darker shadow, Which is blunted by stretching towards the arch.

Eyelashes:  I like thick, thick eyelashes of the 60’s type, so I need a good mascara. I loved the Audacious by NARS but now that I finished I went to the Velvet Mascara by Marc Jacobs that seduced me by his promises of extra thick lashes and provided, kind false eyelashes. Perfect for me in short! So I put a ton, and remove the excess with a small brush (an old mascara also works!), Not forgetting the lashes of the bottom! In the evening I sometimes opt for false eyelashes because you never have enough eyelashes?

Which brings me to the last stage of my journey to the country of the eye, extensions of eyelashes! In fact it had been years since I really wanted to try, so I was very happy to be offered it, because it has a certain price! But in terms of aesthetic “improvements”, even slight ones, I always prefer to entrust this to specialists, because the quality is really felt, and the last thing you want is to look cheap ! So I went to Un Jour, Un Regard , in their very chic lounge in the rue Saint-Honoré (called “the suite”), and I opted for an extension of the eyelashes of natural type. This lasts one hour, during which one is lying on a large armchair, like the dentist more glamorous, and that a pro raises the lashes one by one, It does not hurt at all and during this time you are putting a care on the outline of the eye. There are about a hundred eyelashes per eye, which will fall naturally without damaging the natural volume of the eyelashes. It’s about three weeks and we can then make some adjustments, which I should have done because it is much cheaper to maintain them than to start from scratch! What is great is that it opens incredibly the look and this without makeup, besides the mascara is even downright useless or not recommended if we want the extensions to hold well. You can see this effect on these photos, as well as the one that opens this article, is a little push-up look! I have eyes that fall a little if they are not made up, and I found very nice to have the eyes of doe permanently, makeup or not. In fact I even wonder why I have not yet done this experience so much the result I liked! And as I did in a good institute, it did not damage my eyelashes at all. Since I have crossed several bloggers with extensions of eyelashes, and this allowed me to check the fact that it was very good to everyone, it is really amazing. In summary, it’s a bit expensive, but the result is up to par, so if you want to offer yourself a nice stuff someday, I recommend a re modelling of the eyebrows and an extension of the eyelashes, because it gives a crazy architecture to the face.
